The Sleepout event, which took place for its ninth year, was organised to raise funds and awareness for COPE Galway’s local homeless services. On a cold and sometimes wet night, 28 business leaders slept out on the 4th of December 2020 across various locations including Shop street in a socially distanced manner.
On Thursday 4th February COPE Galway’s annual Business Sleep Out recognition event took place online. Martin O’Connor, Assistant CEO of COPE Galway spoke of how the funds raised through the nine years of the business sleep out had given the organisation greater agility to adapt their services and operating model in response to the challenges of COVID-19 .
