COPE Galway announced this week that the 2022 Business Leaders’ Sleep Out has so far raised over €200,600 for their Homeless Service, with further matched donations still anticipated over the coming weeks.
Sharon Fitzpatrick, COPE Galway’s Head of Development praised the incredible achievement of the 39 Business Leaders, who took on the challenge to sleep out over 12 hours on Shop Street on a cold December night. “We are so grateful to the business community and their supporters for raising these vital funds for our Homeless Service at a time when more and more people are becoming homeless, and the need for our service is growing rapidly.”
The funds raised will allow COPE Galway to continue to develop and expand innovative services to support children, women and men while they remain in temporary or transitionary accommodation for extended periods of time over the year ahead.
